Plastic bottles

I’m not going to go into the reasons why I buy water. Ok, I will briefly, if only to say this: 19 Euro cents for 1.5 liters is plenty cheap, and that way I can easily take water to work.
I buy the cheapest bottled water at the store, and from what I’ve tasted it’s also perhaps the best. For some reason the brand (Gut & Günstig, Good and Cheap) has changed their bottles not once, not twice, but three times since January!
The first change was fine: they went from a basic bottle to something a bit more stylish, with smoother curves. The next change, unfortunately, entailed going back to the original bottles and making it difficult to get the cap off the plastic ring around the top.
The most recent change, though it has abandoned the annoying attachment of the cap to the plastic ring, is even worse: the bottles are now blockier than ever and, more importantly (since what the bottle looks like really doesn’t matter) the opening at the top has been changed such that it is smaller in height and diameter.
I theorize that these changes in bottle design are not so much a result of marketing, as I had originally believed (the first change really was for the better) but rather a reflection of what bottles are cheap at the moment. Fortunately, I won’t be here much longer, and soon enough I’ll be back using my friend the filter.
