Above are two versions of the same photo. The first is the original shot I took. The second is the result of some hocus-pocus I don’t fully understand involving multiple exposures at different settings. If you look around on Flickr you’ll find people who exploit this technique to great artistic effect, but I just like the way it brings out details that otherwise would get lost in shadows or over-exposed portions of the photo.
