If you’re too lazy to really clean, try having a guest unpack and spread out for about a week or so. Then, when he or she leaves, your place will suddenly seem so clean. Come Monday my room will look spotless!

Of course, if you’re trying this with a loved one you haven’t seen/won’t see for quite a while, it will also seem unbearably empty. But clean, too!
